Dental implants in Miami, from one tooth to a full arch
Dental implants in Miami replace missing teeth with a small titanium post set in the jawbone, which then holds a crown, a bridge or a denture. They suit adults who have lost one tooth, several teeth or all of them, as long as the gums are healthy and there is enough bone, or bone can be added.

What dental implants are
A dental implant has three parts. The implant itself is a screw-shaped post, usually titanium, placed in the jawbone where the root of the tooth used to be. Over the following months the bone grows tightly around it, a process called osseointegration. On top goes the abutment, a small connector, and on the abutment goes the visible tooth: a crown, a bridge or a denture.
Strictly speaking, only the post is the implant. In practice, when people ask what an implant costs they mean the whole tooth, so our prices below include the crown where we say so.
The same idea covers very different cases. A front tooth implant is about matching the gum line and shade of the teeth beside it. Mini dental implants are narrow posts used mostly to hold a loose lower denture. Full dental implants and All-on-4 implants replace a whole arch of teeth with a fixed set held by a few implants.
- Crown. The porcelain tooth you see and chew with, made to match your other teeth.
- Abutment. A small connector fixed to the implant that holds the crown.
- Implant. A threaded titanium post that takes the place of the root. The bone bonds to it over three to nine months.
- Jawbone. It grows tightly around the implant. If there is not enough bone, a graft may come first.
- Neighboring tooth. It stays as it is. Unlike a bridge, an implant does not need the teeth beside it filed down.
Who dental implants are for
General health and the state of your gums and bone matter more than your age.
- One missing tooth. A single implant with a crown fills the gap without cutting down the healthy teeth on either side, which a bridge would need.
- A tooth that has to come out. A cracked tooth or one with a failed root canal can be removed and replaced with an implant, sometimes in the same visit, more often after the socket heals.
- Several teeth in a row. A bridge resting on two or more implants can replace a row of missing teeth, so you do not always need one post per tooth.
- A denture that moves. Two to four implants under a lower denture hold it in place when you talk and eat. Mini implants are one way to do this.
- No teeth left, or teeth that cannot be saved. A full arch of fixed teeth can sit on as few as four implants. That is what All-on-4 and full dental implants mean.
When we suggest something else. Implant surgery is not the right first step if you have active gum disease, diabetes that is not under control, a bone disorder or a jaw that is still growing, which is why the usual minimum age is 18. Smoking and vaping slow healing and raise the risk of the implant failing, so we will ask you to stop. If the bone is too thin we may suggest a bone graft first, or a bridge or a removable denture instead.
How dental implant treatment works
Most of the months go to healing; the appointments themselves are few.
-
Exam, X-rays and plan
We examine your teeth and gums, take X-rays and talk through the options for your case, including the ones that are not implants. You leave with a written plan and price.
First visit
-
Preparation, if you need it
Some cases need an extraction, gum treatment or a bone graft before the implant goes in. A graft adds healing time, usually a few months.
Only in some cases
-
Placing the implant
The area is numbed with local anesthesia. The dentist opens the gum, prepares a small channel in the bone, places the post and closes the gum with stitches. You should feel pressure, not pain.
One appointment
-
Healing
The bone bonds to the implant over three to nine months, depending on your bone and your health. If the gap shows, you wear a temporary tooth, bridge or denture in the meantime.
3 to 9 months
-
The final tooth
Once the implant is stable, the abutment is attached and your crown, bridge or denture is fitted and adjusted to your bite.

Dental implants in Miami: what they cost
These are the approximate starting prices on our price list. Full-arch treatment, such as All-on-4, is priced at your consultation because it varies too much from case to case. Your quote depends on how many implants you need, whether you need extractions or bone grafting first, the material of the crown or bridge, and what your insurance pays. We give you the full figure in writing after the exam and X-rays, before any treatment starts.
Insurance coverage for implants varies a lot from plan to plan. Some plans pay part of the cost when the implant replaces a tooth for health reasons, and many treat it as optional. We check your plan with you.
- Single implant with crown
- from $1,500
- Implant-retained denture
- from $2,500
Financing is available through CareCredit and Alphaeon Credit. The exact plan and price are confirmed at your consultation.

| Upkeep | Brush and floss like a natural tooth | Clean the attachments; inserts wear and get replaced | Special brushes and floss under the bridge |
Recovery and aftercare
- The first week. Mild soreness and swelling are normal and usually ease within about a week. Over-the-counter pain relievers and a cold compress on the cheek help.
- Soft, cool food. Eat soft foods, cold foods and lukewarm soup while the area heals, and chew on the other side.
- No smoking. Tobacco slows healing and is one of the main risk factors for losing an implant. Stop before surgery and stay off it while you heal, for good if you can.
- Gentle cleaning. Follow our instructions for rinsing in the first days, then brush and floss around the implant every day as you would a natural tooth.
- Regular checkups. Gums around an implant can become inflamed, a condition called peri-implant disease. Caught early it can be reversed, so we check your implants at every visit.
- Call us if something feels wrong. A loose implant, bleeding gums, pus, fever or swelling that gets worse after the first few days are reasons to call the same day.
What patients ask before deciding
How much do dental implants cost in Miami?
At Miami Perfect Smile a single implant with its crown starts at about $1,500 and an implant-retained denture at about $2,500. Full-arch treatment such as All-on-4 is priced at your consultation. Extractions, bone grafts and the number of implants change the total, so we confirm the price after your exam.
Do dental implants hurt?
The surgery is done under local anesthesia, so you feel pressure but not pain. Afterward, soreness and swelling are normal for a few days and usually settle within about a week with over-the-counter pain relievers. Pain that keeps coming back later is not normal and should be checked.
How long do dental implants last?
With good hygiene and checkups the post can last a lifetime. A 2019 review of long-term studies in the Journal of Dentistry found that roughly 93 to 96 percent of implants were still in place after ten years. The crown on top wears and may need replacing after about 15 years.
How long does the whole process take?
Usually several months. The bone needs three to nine months to bond with the implant before the final tooth goes on, and a bone graft adds time. In some cases a temporary tooth can be attached the same day, but the permanent crown still waits for the bone to heal.
Is it worth getting dental implants at 70?
There is no upper age limit. Your general health, your bone and how well you can clean the implants matter more than the number. Studies show the risk of losing an implant is somewhat higher after 65, so we plan conservatively and check your medical history and medications first.
How many days should I rest after a tooth implant?
Most people feel like themselves again within about a week. Skip hard exercise for the first few days, sleep with your head raised and stick to soft food. More implants or a bone graft can mean a longer recovery.
Does insurance cover dental implants?
It depends on the plan. Some plans pay part of the cost when an implant replaces a tooth for health reasons; others exclude implants or cap the yearly benefit. We accept insurance for the care your plan covers and help you check it before treatment.
